Where does the time go?

It's been forever, huh? I've been so busy these last few months between work and school and trying to keep up with friends and family that I quit blogging temporarily. (Thank you for the nudge, Sadako!)

And a lot has happened, the main thing being that I'm getting married. Phillip proposed in October, and the wedding is tentatively scheduled for June 2011.

I celebrated my 22nd birthday in November. I'm officially getting old.

December is going to be a big month. My finals are next week for school. I need to take and pass a certification exam for work so I can get a promotion and a sweet raise. It's also the holiday season. I probably won't be updating as much as I'd like to, but I will be updating.

Happy day off to me!

Working six days in a row wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be, and the opening went great even though I ended up working with another tech who is a complete moron. I don't think she's going to last. I'm okay with that though.

I slept until 10:30 this morning. I never sleep that late anymore. It was great. Then I woke up and ate breakfast/lunch. Then Phillip and I did some shopping. Then Phillip grilled shrimp and ahi tuna. Sooo good.

Picks of the week?

I found this comic, Girls with Slingshots, and I'm totally digging it.

Know what else I dig? Coconut M&M's. You should check them out.

Long day

I am exhausted. I just got home like 20 minutes ago. I did some work at another store today (not my usual one), and let me just say that hell is a disorganized, chaotic pharmacy. I'm so happy that ours is neat, clean, and organized and that our employees actually have an idea of what they're supposed to be doing.

I'm going to go nom some tacos now, and then I'm going to fall asleep like a baby.

I bought a pair of Crocs (round 2)

As much as I want to say they're awful because I hate how they look, my Crocs are excellent work shoes. My feet don't hurt at all today, and I walked to work this morning, stood and ran around for 8 hours, and then walked home. And I'm glad they're so comfortable. I'd be pissed if I paid $30 for those ugly ass shoes and then I wasn't able to wear them at work.

Not much else to say except that the store is opening on Saturday. I haven't been out on the floor hardly at lately, but it looks like everything's almost done. The pharmacy is almost done. We just need to get a few more drugs in.

I have a six day week this week, and I'm not really looking forward to it but a few hours of overtime never hurt anyone. In fact, I welcome the money with open arms.

Ugh..., or I bought a pair of Crocs

I did it. I bought a pair of Crocs, but not a pair of the absolutely hideous clog-looking ones. I bought a pair of only somewhat hideous ballet flat-looking ones.

They aren't that bad. It could be worse. They could be the clog ones. I mean, they still look like they're made of horrible plastic foam, but they could be uglier.

But here's the deal. Phillip took me to the store to look at them after he got off work. I had just walked to work, stood for 8 hours, and walked home so my feet were killing me. I tried on the shoes, and they were actually extremely comfortable. Like I couldn't believe how comfortable they were. My foot didn't hurt nearly as badly. It was crazy. So I bought them.

They will stay in my work locker though. They won't go anywhere else. They are strictly for work where no one should be looking at my feet anyways because I'll be standing behind a counter all day. End of story.

And I plan to do a post on Monday about how comfortable (or not) they were after walking to work and wearing them all day. Stay tuned for more "I bought a pair of Crocs!"

More work stuff and any shoe suggestions?

I feel so much better today, but work is still really hectic. The store is almost done and the grand opening is next Saturday, but we're still trying to figure out a lot of stuff. Other than that, not too much is going on.

Oh! I finally got my license, so I was able to handle the drugs today. That was exciting.

This weekend is my last real weekend off, so Phillip and I are going out to the Valley. His mom wants him to do something for her, and Saturday is one of my uncles' birthdays so my family is having a party for him.

Saturday is also mine and Phillip's three year anniversary (for the record). We don't have a lot of extra money right now though, so we're probably not going to do anything too special. Phillip's birthday is in two weeks though, and I'm going to try to do something nice for him then.

Also, question: I need a pair of comfortable shoes that aren't too expensive. They need to come in black, and they can't be tennis shoes. My price limit for this go around is $40. Any suggestions? Someone told me that Crocs are super comfortable, but most of their shoes are so ugly that I wouldn't even think about buying a pair. I might get some just for work though if I hear that they're good.
